DOONHAMERS chief Peter Murphy reckons new addition Adam Brooks gives his side a ‘different dynamic’ in the forward areas.
The 20-year-old striker, a former Celtic youth prospect, has signed up at Palmerston until the end of the season following his release from Inverness.
Speaking this week, Murphy said: “Obviously with the injuries we have just had, and the situation at Inverness, and Adam Brooks becoming available, we are delighted as a club to get him in.
“He has a very good goal scoring record from his days at Celtic and just needs a good run of games and an opportunity and we were fortunate enough to get him in. And now we will see how he gets on.
“He will go into the squad. He trained with us and looks very good and gives us a different dynamic to the other strikers that we have.”
Murphy added: “I thought when Leighton McIntosh came on last Saturday was just outstanding. People keep saying that (Leighton McIntosh) cannot buy a goal (with his luck just now) and although you want your striker to be scoring 20 goals a season he does a really good job for the team.
“It is then up to those players around you when he gets you up the park and hopefully contribute. We have had, I think, 11 different goal scorers this season although that is quite good, you want your striker to be scoring all the goals and we have spread them around quite a bit.”
On tomorrow’s hosts, Murphy said: “Dumbarton seem to have changed their style of play a bit and a couple of years ago Stevie Farrell, their manager, liked to sit back and hit on the counter attack. The were sitting a bit higher, but have now gone back to that.
“Their pitch is a lot smaller and they will try and make it as difficult as they can for us and frustrate us and it is up to us to show the quality we have to break them down.”
