Landal GreenParks this week announced the launch of their unique new development at Barnsoul, near Irongray, calling it the ‘next generation of UK holiday accommodation’.
It has been designed and created by architects to be eco-friendly and the firm says it will ‘revolutionise the sector’.
Managing director Paul Hardingham also revealed there will be 50 new jobs on site once it is all completed.
And he said: “We have wanted to create a concept holiday resort since launching in the UK five years ago and believe this site will act as a blueprint for the future of the sector.
“To help us achieve this objective we have worked with architects and interior designers to create new lodge styles to offer the very best of modern and innovative living in a wonderful part of the UK countryside.
“Not only is the accommodation innovative, it will all be underpinned by very strong environmental credentials, making the resort one of the greenest and most technologically advanced parks in Europe.”
The Barnsoul site will be developed in three phases, with phase one this year seeing the launch of 40 cabins and a coffee house providing local farm produce along with a central reception area.
Phases two and three will consist of 220 cabins and facility complex with restaurant, indoor pool, spa and experience led activities.
The resort will be powered by green energy, with renewable power generation on site in the form of PV and wind turbines. There will be a zero to landfill policy – with no single use plastics on sale – and an extensive tree planting and wildflower meadow planned.
