The region’s overall death toll from the virus still stands at 47, according to figures this week from National Records of Scotland.
Their report also notes that “deaths have returned to normal levels in most areas”.
And they have revealed that between weeks 12 and 22 of this year, there were 67 excess deaths from all causes in Dumfries and Galloway, with deaths 17 per cent above average for the time of year.
