No go for Langholm Show

THIS year's Langholm Show has been cancelled after the wet summer affected the show ground.

Chairman Andrew Elliot and his committee met at the Castleholm venue earlier this week to assess conditions there – and “reluctantly” decided to call it off.
The annual agricultural show had been due to take place this Saturday.
In a statement, the committee said: “After a meeting on the show field Eskdale Agricultural Society has reluctantly taken the decision to cancel this year’s Langholm Show, which was to be held on Saturday 23rd September.
“We would like to thank all who entered exhibits and trade stands, our sponsors and Buccleuch Estates for your continued support. Thanks must also go to the chairman, vice chairman and the whole committee who have put in so much work leading up to the show.”
