POLICE in Annan are investigating reports of anti-social behaviour in the George Street and Butts Street areas of the town.

It follows claims that local youths are verbally abusing members of the public and eggs have been thrown at house windows.
Sergeant Steven Wilson, of Annan Police, said: “We are keen to stamp down on this type of behaviour and will be deploying patrols in the area to find those responsible, who are believed to be schoolchildren at Annan Academy.
“If anyone is found to be committing an offence, they will be cautioned and charged and taken home and spoken to in front of their parents at the very least.”
Meanwhile, there have also been reports of anti-social behaviour in the Hillview Crescent area of Annan.
Sgt Wilson added: “Local police will be focusing on that area in particular and clamping down on anybody causing anti-social behaviour by using BB guns, trying to break windows, spraying graffiti or being abusive.
“A number of young people have been identified who are believed to be involved in this type of behaviour and we will be speaking to them and their parents soon.”
