One down, two to go

MARIE Marshall successfully completed the first of her three ultra marathons last weekend in aid of Annan Day Centre’s new home on Charles Street.

The Annan athlete completed the first of the Triple Crown, the Highland Fling, in just over 13 hours.

Next up is the West Highland Way Race, but Marie will need a short rest before getting underway with another round of training.

She said: “I completed the 55 miles in just over 13 hours. The rain poured most of the day but I had an amazing support team to keep me going all the way.

“I am looking forward to the next two although a week of recovery is much needed before I get back to training.

“Big thank you to Louise Hooper, Pauline Duff, Alan Creighton and Johnny Minto for all the logistical support and to Neil Richardson who put up with my constant chit chat for 55 miles!”

Sponsor forms are available from Annan Day Centre, while the JustGiving page can be accessed at justgiving.com/fundraising/marie-marshall11
