One, two, three

THE Roan family had a nice surprise when Holstein Friesian Rosemary gave birth to triplets recently.

She had been scanned for twins but, to everyone’s shock – and delight – she ended up having three healthy calves instead, a rare occurrence and a first at Barnbarroch.

Tracey Roan is now rearing the young trio, who are doing well, while mum is already back to work in the parlour.

Supermum Rosemary had twins last year and the latest development has left the Roans wondering if it will be quads next in 2022!
