TWO farms in the region will take part in this year’s Open Farm Sunday event next month.

On June 7, Balmangan Farm near Borgue will be open to visitors between 11 am and 4 pm.

They can find out more about the farm’s nature restoration project; take a tractor trailer safari tour to see Highland Cattle, Belted Galloway, Tamworth Pigs; browse the market garden project - Solway Edge Veg; see the bee hives helping pollinate the plants; and hear about their butterfly conservation work.

Teas/coffee and cakes will be served, with donations going to MacMillan Cancer Support and Scotland the Big Picture charities.

Balmangan Farm is a 330 acre regenerative livestock farm with native breed cattle, sheep and Tamworth pigs

Also participating is Low Auldgirth Steading near Auldgirth, between 11 am and 4 pm with free entry.

Farmer Ruth will give guided tours to see the livestock and taste the food produced there.
