Park fouling angers parents

SUSPECTED human and dog poo has been found smeared on play park equipment in Annan, sparking public disgust.

Two incidents of fouling have been reported at the park in Turnberry Crescent in the last week, preventing children from using the swings and rockers and angering parents.

One mum who uses the park said: “I’m disgusted with what has happened. No-one can take their children to play now due to this disgrace.”

It was first spotted last Wednesday and happened again this week.

Community warden Billy Martin has been investigating, while Loreburn Housing Association, who own the apparatus, have been cleaning up the area.

A Loreburn spokewoman yesterday said: “We are treating this as anti-social behaviour.

“We went out and looked at it, and last week’s incident we are not convinced it was done by a dog, it appeared more human.

“This week it appears that dog poo bags have been emptied onto the play equipment.

“This has been cleaned up by a member of staff.

“We will be sending hand written letters to the residents around the nearby cul de sac.”
