According to local officers, the 19-year-old pedestrian was struck in an incident involving a green Vauxhall Adam on Galloway Street at its junction with Glasgow Street around 9.30 pm on Saturday.

Emergency services attended and the teenager was taken Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary before being transferred to Edinburgh Western Infirmary where staff describe his condition as ‘serious.’
