Plan submitted for village chocolate factory
PROPOSALS . . . if approved by the council, this small residential property on Pretoria Road would be converted into a kitchen and store room for luxury chocolate production

A LOCAL artisan chocolate maker has applied for planning permission to establish a small factory in Eastriggs.

Started in 2017, The Co Co Company produces luxury, handmade confectionary and currently has a cafe and shop at The Old School in Dumfries.

And now owners Ian Mead and Robert Lindsay are looking to expand their operation by converting a residential property at 1a Pretoria Road, Eastriggs into a kitchen and store room for further chocolate production purposes.

An application to repurpose the 36 sq/m one-bed flat was submitted to the council’s planning department earlier this month and awaits a decision.
