A PLAY park project in Lochmaben finally got underway this week – see above.
Upgrades to the Burgh’s Victory Park – which is a joint project between Dumfries and Galloway Council and the town’s Community Council started on Tuesday and is targeted to be completed prior to March 31.
Work was supposed to start on Monday but due to poor weather it was delayed for a day.
A council spokesman said: “We can confirm work has started on the installation at Victory Park.
“This work is on target and the installation should be completed in three to four weeks.”
The park project looked to be dead in the water last year when the local authority decided to take back £20,000 of funding it had previously allocated for the Victory Park project.
However, residents fought back and the red-faced council made a u-turn and decided to back the project, blaming their previous actions as a “misunderstanding”.
