A LAST minute call has gone out for applications to the Dumfries and Galloway Children's Panel.

The closing date for new candidates is next Wednesday.

And Children’s Hearings Scotland have issued an urgent call for adults with compassion, the ability to listen and an interest in the welfare of children and young people to come forward.
Fifteen new panel members are needed locally to ensure the system continues to offer the best possible support.
And there’s a particular requirement for male applicants to ensure hearings are balanced.
Children’s Hearings Scotland chief executive Boyd McAdam said: “It can at times be a challenging role, but it’s also hugely rewarding and can turn around the life of a child who is neglected, abused or troubled.”
