Alpha Solway in the town’s Queensberry Street manufactures and supplies specialist
chemical protective clothing and disposable respiratory products, and has been purchased by Globus (Shetland) Ltd for an undisclosed sum.
A spokesman for Alpha Solway said: “We are really excited to be joining the Globus
Group — an organisation known for its commitment to the creation of innovative and game-changing products.
“We have come a long way since our formation and look forward to the next stage of our development.”
Alpha Solway offers a range of off-the-shelf garments and also works with its customers to develop bespoke items designed to specification.
And its well-established products are available throughout the UK, Europe and the rest of the world.
Addressing the impact of the acquisition, Alpha Solway say their facilities and staff will remain.
And Globus say they will maintain Alpha Solway’s offices which will run alongside their own headquarters in Manchester and regional operations in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
