Police name Stranraer victim

POLICE have named the man who died following an incident in Stranraer this week.

He was Gary Handling, 33, who lived in the town.

Officers say Mr Handling was injured during a disturbance which occurred at about 11.40 pm on Monday night in John Simpson Drive.

Emergency services attended and he was taken by ambulance to Galloway Community Hospital, but died a short time later.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death and was due to appear at Stranraer Sheriff Court today Wednesday.
