This week the Lockerbie Swimming Pool and Leisure Complex Trust announced their plans to dissolve – but hope to keep their fundraising cash in the town.
Since beginning in 1995, the trust has worked hard to try and make the swimming pool dream become a reality for the town.
In recent years architects drawings were drafted, surveys were created and the trust even acquired land for £1 from Dumfries and Galloway Council, in 2016, to build the pool.
But now those hopes are dead in the water.
And this week chairman of the trust Robert McDonald issued a statement setting out their position – see the full statement in this week’s issue of the Annandale Herald.
The group now plan to make contact with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR), to provide them with audited accounts of their funds and work towards wrapping up the trust.
