Poppyscotland needs volunteers in Creetown this year.
Preparation for November needs to start now and Poppyscotland is calling for individuals or community groups to step forward to take on the role of area organiser in Creetown, as well as collectors to distribute poppies and carry out street collections.
Volunteer development manager Isla Campbell Lupton said: “We rely on an army of volunteers to organise the Scottish Poppy Appeal and their support makes a real difference to the lives of veterans and their families. We really need volunteers to get involved to ensure there will be a poppy collection in Creetown this year.”
All the money that is donated by local people into the poppy tins is used by Poppyscotland to provide a range of practical support to members of the Armed Forces community across Scotland but the charity needs to raise more money every year to continue its work.
