REHEARSALS are almost over for the Border Strathspey and Reel Society, who will host their annual Fiddlers Rally at ‘The Bridge’, Cuckoo Bridge, Dumfries on Saturday June 28.
The orchestra will contain around 50 musicians, fiddlers and accordionists from all over Scotland and Cumbria, who traditionally are invited to join the host society, guaranteeing a room filled with beautiful and rousing Scottish and Northumbrian traditional music, including reels, waltzes, jigs and marches.
There will also be guest appearances from some excellent solo singers and musicians.
Tickets are available from John Douglas Music, Great King Street Dumfries. They are just £10 and children under 16 go free. There will also be a giant raffle with many prizes.
All proceeds will go to popular local charities, Prostate Buddies D and G and Food Train. Doors open at 6 pm for a 7 pm start.
