Principals set to be longest serving pair

ORAN Keenan and Katie Anderson are hoping it will be third time lucky this year.

The pair were first selected to be Annan’s Cornet and Lass back in 2020 and received their official sashes just days before the first lockdown.

But that proved to be their only taste of the Riding of the Marches that year as all events were cancelled due to the pandemic.

However, they agreed to carry on in the top positions in 2021, but covid once again put paid to that.

So the duo are crossing their fingers that 2022 will finally be their big year.

They will receive their new, updated, sashes in a ceremony tomorrow night at Newington Social Club.

It also means that Oran and Katie will go down in Annan history as the town’s longest serving principals, alongside standard bearer Katy Nelson, who also first stood in 2020.
