THE Pony Driving for the Disabled Group marked the end of their 2015 season with a prizegiving at the Cressfield Hotel.

Blair Murray was named best all rounder of the year; Aileen Graham won the most helpful volunteer prize; The James Graham Trophy for Overcoming Adversity went to Donald McPhail; and the Helpers Challenge Trophy was won by Doreen Taylor.
The group meets between April and October at Jennymill Riding Stables in Brydekirk and also attend shows and competitions.
They have just celebrated their 30 year anniversary and spokeswoman Alison Hutton said: “Over this time it has offered pony driving to lots of variously disabled people who come from miles around to take part. At present there is a driver who comes from as far away as Hawick.
“The group is supported by many volunteers who also come from far and wide to help. The drivers are always accompanied in the carriages by Riding for the Disabled qualified drivers or coaches and supported by two or three cycling volunteers alongside each carriage.”
