UMFRIES High School’s S2/S3 Careers Fair took place on Wednesday, with all pupils from both year groups having attended.
They took part in 11 workshops throughout the day, presented by local businesses and employers.
The S5 My World of Work Ambassador Team helped to host the event and ensure that the day ran smoothly.
Principal teacher of pupil support Jan Kilmurry said: “This was a fantastic opportunity for the young people to find out about many career pathways and possible future destinations: employment and Modern Apprenticeships, and of course choices including Foundation Apprenticeships and applying to college and university.”
The event was well timed in preparing the pupils for the options process, which starts in March, where they will choose their subjects for next year.
Dumfries High School would like to thank The Wheatley Group, Kills Development Scotland, Morrisons, The Usual Place, Let’s Get Sporty, Alpha Solway, SRUC Barony, BSW Timber Ltd, SP Energy Networks, The Army and DYW Dumfries and Galloway for giving up their time to take part and ensure the event’s success.
