Pupils in fine voice for carol contest

VOTING is now underway for a primary schools carol contest.

A panel of judges have chosen their ‘top ten’ from the initial entries received for the Xmas Factor, which is run by Gretna Gateway and West Sound Radio, and members of the public have until midnight on Sunday to select the finalists who will battle it out at the shopping centre next month.
The five schools that receive the most votes will progress to the grand final at Gretna Gateway on Sunday December 6, where the winning school will scoop £500 and a special Xmas Factor trophy and the four runners-up will each receive £50.
And the ten schools in contention are Amisfield Primary (Away in a Manger), Eastriggs Primary (We Three Kings), Hoddom Primary (Silent Night), Hottsbridge Primary (I Saw Three Ships), Lockerbie Primary (Ding Dong Merrily on High), St Mungo Primary (The First Noel), Tundergarth Primary (We Three Kings), Kirkcudbright Primary (Silent Night), Johnstonebridge Primary (We Three Kings) and Wallace Hall Primary (Away in a Manger).
The results of the public vote, which can be cast at www.westsoundradio.com, will
be announced on the Tommy Jardine Breakfast Show on West Sound on Tuesday
