Four of the events organisers are off to Holyroodhouse next week for tea and cakes.
Graham Main has been invited for his work with both organisations and plans to seize the opportunity to promote Dumfries.
He said: “We are all very proud of Dumfries and the way the community here works together to achieve things. There’s a lot to celebrate and a lot to tell people about.”
And he even hopes to persuade Her Majesty to pay a visit to the town, adding: “I’ve been told she is a fan of the Bard’s poetry, so if I get the opportunity I will certainly ask if she would like to come along to see our Burn’s Night Carnival, and perhaps even take in one of the Big Burns Supper shows.”
Others invited to the garden party on 1 July are Big Burns Supper chair Maureen Farrell and volunteer co-rodinator Moira Priestley and Electric Theatre Workshop associate director Justin Hylsop.
