Raiders target two Dumfries bakeries
BREAK-IN . . . one of the raids took place at Marchbank's cafe in Heathhall Industrial Estate

POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses following break-ins to two Dumfries bakery premises this week.

Thieves forced their way into Marchbank Bakers’ Lincluden Road shop overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday.

And in a second incident the following night, the local franchise’s cafe and takeaway at Heathhall industrial estate was also broken into.

Harry Marchbank, owner of the chain, said staff are led to believe there were “sums of money taken”.

However, he added: “At this stage it’s pretty unclear what has been taken.”

Anyone with any information is asked to call 101 and quote reference 0324 of 07 April 2021.
