Ready, steady, go for road race

RUNNERS old and young were on their marks for the Moffat Gala Road Race on Tuesday night.

Weather conditions were perfect for the 15 kilometre event.

The start and finish line was at the Ram on the High Street, with the youngsters going first on a shorter route.

Overall 5-11 winners were Cormac and Imogen Thomson; while the 12-16 age group was won by Nicholas Quigley and Kayla Dinnin.

Then it was the turn of the adults, with prizes in both the open section and for local runners.

Fastest man was Tom Cammack in 53.24 and fastest woman was Grace Pow in 61.58.

For the locals, it was Andrew Gibson in 65.25 and Lucie Dutton with a time of 80.23.
