Record win for Annan Ladies

Annan Ladies 7-1 Drumchapel United

WITH a good crowd at Galabank, the ladies started on the front foot and took the lead through a wonderful goal outside the box from Jamie-Lee Johnston.

Soon Jamie-Lee doubled the lead with another superb strike. Annan continued to dominate the first half and eventually scored a third after some lovely passing from Jamie-Lee and Emily led to Rhian playing it across goal giving Isla Cooper an easy finish. Rhian Williams then made it four before half time.

Annan continued to push for goals in the second half and they got them. A brilliant corner into the box from Rhian was headed home from Helen Milligan.

Drumchapel then clawed a goal back after they won the ball outside the box and the strike from 20 yards hit the back of the Annan net.

However, the goal did not phase Annan, they continued to attack and ended up hitting the post three times before Morgan Crosbie scored with a powerful effort which gave the ladies their sixth. Only a minute later a wonderful ball from Siobhan McMinn found Jordan Mcnally who then smashed it home to make it seven.

Annan’s player of the match was Siobhan McMinn.

This result was Annan’s biggest ever league win and takes them to their highest ever league position at the midway point of a campaign. Up next is the final away trip of the season to Dalbeattie.
