Retail jobs created as store expands

SIX NEW retail jobs have been created after a £700k upgrade to a store in Thornhill.

The Co-op have doubled the size of their Drumlanrig Street branch, which officially reopens this week, complete with expanded indoor bakery.

Several local groups are set to benefit from the member-owned company’s community funding charity.

They include Thornhill Friendship Club, Thornhill Playgroup and Thornhill Scottish Country Dancers’ Association.

The retailer is also planning create a number of jobs when they open a new convenience store in Gretna late summer this year.
