River body victim named

POLICE have today confirmed that the body of a man found in the River Esk near Gretna is that of a missing Longtown man.

The body of James Davidson, 81, was discovered just after 5 pm last Wednesday, March 15.

It has now been formally identified.

And Cumbria Police say Mr Davidson’s death is being treated as unexplained but not suspicious

A file has been prepared for the coroner.
