River search for missing woman

THE search for a missing Dumfries woman has been stepped up with police and other members of the emergency services involved.

Police are currently looking to trace Mary Crosbie, 63, from the Summerhill area who has been missing since about 12.30 pm on Sunday.

Specialist resources, including the Police Scotland Helicopter, Police Dogs and the Nith Inshore Rescue boat, are helping in the search along with police officers. Areas of the River Nith are being checked.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Mary is a vulnerable female and is described as 5ft 6inches tall, slim build, short grey hair and a fair complexion.

“She wears glasses and is thought to be wearing either grey trousers or jeans.

“If you know Mary, have seen her, or have any information as to her whereabouts please contact Police on 101 quoting reference 2493.”
