Ron plays his cards right for Vegas trip
POKER FACE. . . Ron Simmons is heading to Vegas next year for another shot to win big at the tables

GRETNA poker player Ron Simmons has won a ticket to play at a prestigious tournament in Las Vegas.

This is the third time in his seven years of playing poker that Ron has won this opportunity, after winning two tickets back-to-back in 2017 and even landing on the final table of the Vegas tournament before being eliminated.

Ron takes part in Redtooth pub tournaments four times a year, specifically at the Turf Tavern in Carlisle.

He attended the regional finals in Newcastle, where he managed to obtain a place in the UK National Finals in Manchester on October 2. And Ron played his cards right to end up in the top four of the entire event, granting him an invitation to the prestigious Vegas100 tournament in the city of the same name next May.

There, 100 of the best players in the world will compete for a chance to win £132,000.

After only seven years of playing, Ron has amassed an impressive collection of trophies, including nine league trophies, seven pub league trophies, two regional trophies, three shiny gold Vegas100 invitations and more.
