A DUMFRIESSHIRE firm has been recognised as a leading manufacturer in a UK parliamentary publication.

Russell Roof Tiles, based at Lochmaben, was invited to appear in the 2020 Parliamentary Review representing their sector and sharing best practice. They are the first and only roof tile firm to feature in the prestigious publication, which goes out to Government officials, ministers, politicians and business leaders.

Employing 54 staff, Russell Roof Tiles makes nearly a million roofing products per week and has benefited from an exceptional year of investment. They brought in the latest innovations in manufacturing, upgraded their technology and equipment and introduced new sustainable initiatives. Further investment was made in staff retention and upskilling the workforce.

In his review article, managing director Andrew Hayward reflects on these investments and provides commentary on preparing for the future.

He said: “In the past 12 months we have worked tirelessly to improve and enhance key areas of the business, in order to remain a sector leader within the industry. This in turn allowed the Parliamentary Review to recognise our contribution and expertise within the sector. “We are privileged to be the first roof tile manufacturer to provide expert commentary and insight.”
