Running for Responders

SISTERS from Moffat have been on a fundraising campaign in memory of their late father.

And they are delighted to have been able to present a cheque for £1539 to a cause close to their hearts.
Lesley Wallace and Tracey Jack took part in last month’s Moffat Festival of Running,a9.3 mile route over the picturesque hills surrounding the town, just weeks after the death of their father Thomas Jack.
And the money they raised from local sponsorship was given to Moffat First Responders, to mark the care and support the charity gave to Mr Jack before he died.
Speaking this week, Lesley explained that she only started running earlier this year, while her sister first took part in the Moffat Festival of Running 30 years ago.
And she said: “Moffat First Responders came out to dad a few times and we just felt like we wanted to give something back.
“Tracey only decided a few days before it that she wanted to take part, she raised over £250 in a matter of days — it was amazing.”
Spurred on by the First Responders’ good work, Lesley and her other sister Janette Jack have also signed up to a training course to become First Responders.
