A DIE-HARD Queen of the South supporter has retired his scarf that has been on his neck for the past five decades.
Alex Bomphray made the hard decision to part ways with the scarf — which has been at more than 1000 Queens matches and around Europe — but will always be remembered as his wife Norma has framed it and is now up in their home.
Alex decided to retire the 50-year-old scarf which he says had been “showing its age and getting a bit threadbare”.
Alex believes he’s worn the scarf to a staggering 1290 — give or take — matches!
