School consultation plan

A PUBLIC meeting is scheduled for mid November to discuss the future of Carsphairn Primary.

It has been ‘mothballed’ since the summer holidays of 2019, with staff temporarily relocated.

Officials have now concluded a review of the projected demographics, which has indicated no future significant demand for the school, with current catchment pupils attending Dalry instead.

And councillors agreed in March to commence a formal consultation with the local community on closing the school on a permanent basis. They will next week be asked to agree that the consultation period takes place from November 1 to December 13.
