Schools reopen after winter blasts

SCHOOLS closed as a result of winter weather which swept the region this week have been reopening today.

Disruption has been seen to schools within Dumfries and Galloway since the start of the year, with some pupils having enjoyed an extended festive break.
And although heating failures have continued to cause disruptions, the local authority today announced the reopening of Nethermill, Applegarth, Hutton, Johnstonebridge and Wallace Hall Academy and primary school.
Parents should have received text notifications from their child’s school and information on emergency closures continue to be available on the Dumfries and Galloway Council website www.dumgal.gov.uk
