Scotland call up for billiards pair

TWO Annan players represented their country last week in the annual Home International Billiards Tournament held at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds.

Scotland managed to enter two teams, with reigning Scottish Champion Paul Whelan, from Annan, representing the A team, whilst Lindsay Currie, also of Annan, helped out the B team.
Their opposition included some of the world’s best players representing England, Wales, Irish Republic and Jersey.

Whilst the Scottish teams did not feature in the top placings, both Paul and Lindsay, who are part of the Blue Bell team in the Carlisle Billiards League , played reasonably well and enjoyed their trip.
