Scotland cap for Smith

WIGTOWN rugby star Robbie Smith made his Scotland debut after coming on as a replacement in their victory over Canada last Saturday.

The 25-year-old hooker came on in the 55th minutes as Scotland won 73-12 in Ottawa to retain the Douglas Horn Trophy. He is currently in the squad taking part in the Americas Tour.

Tonight, Scotland are up against the USA in Washington DC. Smith has been named as one of the replacements.

A former student at Douglas Ewart High School, Smith came through the ranks at Newton Stewart and Ayr before signing his first professional contract with Bedford Blues in the English Championship.

He currently represents Northampton Saints at club level.
