Search for missing man continues

POLICE have renewed their appeal to trace missing man Dane McGill, for whom concern is growing.

The 53-year-old was last seen in the Dalswinton area around 12.30 pm last Friday, 10 November 2023, and there is increasing concern for his wellbeing.

He is described as white, around 5ft 9in tall, of slim build with short grey hair and a beard. He walks with a stick and is thought to be wearing a camouflage jacket and khaki-coloured trousers.

Since his disappearance, officers supported by colleagues from the Dog Unit, Marine Unit, Nith Inshore Rescue and Galloway, Moffat and Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Teams have searched the Dalswinton area.

Commenting on the continuing search Inspector McKinstry said: “We are becoming increasingly concerned for Dane’s welfare and are keen to trace him as soon as possible.

“If you have any information about Dane’s whereabouts, please contact us via 101, quoting incident 2878 of 10 November, 2023.”
