Proving it really is the season of goodwill, big hearted Gokhan Akkaya, of Karizma Turkish Barber, Annan, is offering a free Christmas haircut to anyone struggling to make ends meet this festive season.
He said: “We all deserve to look and feel good on Christmas Day.
“Money can be tight and people struggle at this time of year, so I would like to offer a free haircut to anyone who feels their budget just can’t stretch to one right now.
“Just come in, say discreetly you can’t afford to pay, don’t be embarrassed – there’s no questions asked.”
Gokhan and his team have been based in Annan for two-and-a-half years now and say business is thriving and they are always happy to give something back to the community.
He said: “I really love working in Annan, the people have been so good for us and we like the town so much we’ve just opened another shop.”
Encouraging people to come along, he said: “The offer isn’t just for people in Annan, it’s the whole region, Carlisle too.”
And his generous offer has been praised massively by the community, gaining comments such as: “Not all heroes wear capes.”
