Serious crash probed by police

A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the A745 at the weekend.

The 71-year-old man was driving a red Ducati F848 motorcycle which was in a collision with a silver Skoda Octavia car on the Dalbeattie to Castle Douglas road at about 4.10 pm on Saturday.

Emergency services attended and the biker was taken to hospital but the driver of the car did not require any medical treatment.

Sergeant David Kerr described it as a ‘serious crash’ and said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of this crash and we are appealing to the public for information.

“If you saw anything then please get in touch. We are also asking drivers to check dash-cam to see if there is something recorded that could help our investigation.”

Anyone who can assist is asked to call Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 2268 of 5 April, 2025.
