Seven in court after pub disturbance

SEVEN men made a brief appearance in court following a disturbance at a pub in Annan at the weekend.

They appeared in private on Tuesday before Sheriff George Jamieson at Dumfries on a petition containing a total of nine charges involving breach of the peace, assaults to injury and to permanent disfigurement.

They were named as Christopher Bingham, 28, and Neil Carlyle, 53, from Annan; John Connors, 28, Eynsford; Patrick Connors, 25, Hatfield; Ryan Oakley, 30, Gretna; and James Rooney, 18, and James Christopher Rooney, 37, Bicester.

No plea or declaration was made and all were committed for further examination and allowed bail.
