Dumfries and West

A STEP back in time is being offered to older people at the Ewart Library on Monday afternoon.

They are hosting a free reminiscence afternoon from 2-4 pm with old newspapers from bygone days and old photographs of the town.
The organisers hope it will generate some memories and discussion during the afternoon.

Urging people to attend, Councillor Tom McAughtrie said: “The event at the Ewart Library is a great opportunity to view Dumfries’ past and chat to other people in the community who have memories of the town. I may even pop along myself – despite my young gentlemanly looks I can remember the days of buses in the High Street, seeing the Animals in the Lyceum after they’d been in America, and I even recall my fellow member Councillor Groom singing with the Tartan Tremors!”
