Shark Tank history!
SEASON OPENER . . . the Solway Sharks host the Telford Tigers at the Dumfries Ice Bowl on Saturday night

After victory in the NIHL 1 Morelee Division last season with a quadruple trophy winning season with the League, Cup, Play-offs, and National Championship amongst the accolades, the team has been working diligently all summer to get ready for this historic season in the NIHL.

They are now under new ownership as John Strange, Phil Reilly, and David McCarroll have taken over the organisation and will be trying to build on the triumphs over the last few years.

The Sharks will compete in their new league alongside ten other clubs from throughout the UK, including Milton Keynes, Bristol, Sheffield, and Swindon.

As the league’s only team situated in Scotland, they will face long excursions across the border and will be hosting other teams who have never visited Scotland before for competitive hockey.

The next generation of Scottish young players will have the chance to practise with and develop against the top talent from the UK and beyond by switching to a professional team and joining the second tier of UK hockey in the NIHL National Division.

The Sharks will be hoping to make a statement and put on a show in the Shark Tank’s inaugural first competitive game, rather than just making up the numbers in the NIHL.

This season, they hope to see both new and returning fans attend to enjoy the thrill and intensity that only an ice hockey game can give, as well as to be a part of another historic moment for the Solway Sharks.

The Solway Sharks vs Telford Tigers, face off at the Dumfries ice bowl this Saturday September 23 at 6 pm (doors open 4.30 pm).
