Show cancelled again

FOR the second year running, Dumfries and Lockerbie Agricultural Show has been cancelled.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and uncertainty over government guidelines in the summer, those involved in the annual show this week announced the popular event has been called off. A statement from the organising committee was released this week and read: “After giving the matter much consideration, the directors have decided that, regrettably, the 2021 Dumfries Show will not be able to be held this year due to safety concerns around coronavirus.

“We are continuing to plan for the 2022 show and look forward to welcoming you then.”

They have also said that the show field will be available to let for events when restrictions allow.

The announcement was met with much disappointment from supporters who were looking forward to the ‘country comes to town’ celebrations after a year of lockdowns and restrictions.
