Covid halted proceedings for the last two years, but now the board of directors is gearing up for 2022 and their best show ever.
Invites are being sent out to traders and exhibitors, and next week some of the board will attend a shows forum to find out about the latest guidance to ensure the event can run safely in terms of covid.
There will also be extra entertainment booked and an appearance and demonstration by a top chef.
Chairman Calum McGinley, pictured, this week said: “We are really looking forward to a great show, I think people really need something like this.
“There will be something for everyone, it’s not just for country people, it’s for people from the town as well.
“And you can easily spend the whole day there – from the judging in the morning, prize-giving, touring the stalls, long service awards.
“There’s also the food festival, with big emphasis on all local produce not just food.
“The region has some great, diverse local industries.”
As always, the show will take place on the first Saturday of August – which this year falls on the 6th.
Calum, who has so far chaired just one show despite being in the top role since 2019, has thanked all those who help make the event a success.
