Show time at Langholm

ALL creatures great and small lined up for the judges at Langholm Show on Saturday.

Despite a wet forecast, the day actually turned out to be fine and visitors turned out in force for what’s Dumfriesshire’s last agricultural show of the season.

Judging took place in the morning, while the afternoon was given over to the prize presentations and a packed programme of entertainment in the main ring. Highlights included Cumberland Wrestling, vintage machinery, terrier racing, sheaf tossing and children’s sports.

Special guests were the Barony Basset hound pack and the trophies were presented by MP David Mundell.

Chairman Gordon Reid said: “We had another great day at the Castleholm. The weather was kind to us and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves.

“Thanks to all our sponsors, everyone who entered and showed livestock and industrial entries, the public and I’d like to mention my hard-working committee too.”
