Simpson takes charge at Mids

FOLLOWING a lengthy process, Mid Annandale AFC have announced a new management team to lead the side forward in the South of Scotland League.

Craig Simpson will be the new head coach at New King Edward Park, with Paul McDermott acting as his assistant.

The pair have been in and around football for many years with Craig involved at both youth and senior level, while Paul is well on the way to becoming a level five senior county referee at the same time as being close to completion of his UEFA C Licence.

Craig and Paul have departed their top of the league Gretna 2008 U17s team to take on the challenge of Mids in the South of Scotland League.

A Mid Annandale spokesman said: “Craig and Paul are looking forward to the challenge at Lockerbie, and the Mids are looking forward to a long and fruitful relationship.

“Mid Annandale AFC would like to take this opportunity to thank Kyran and Ted Jackson who, along with Craig Allen, stepped into the breach between managerial appointments in such a professional manner.”

Meanwhile, it was also announced that former Mids boss Craig Allen has agreed to takeover as chairman.

And Kenny Edwards would be easing himself into the secretary’s position, with a view to taking over full time at the end of the season.
