MEMBERS of the Solway Sk8ing Club and their coach were preparing to jet off to Finland this week for a special training camp.

Next Sunday four skaters and their coach, Philip Carter, will arrive in Finland to represent Great Britain at a synchronised skating development camp which is being run by the world governing body, the International Skating Union (ISU).
Club spokeswoman Anne-Marie Coxon said: “They are among only 40 skaters and 20 coaches from the entire world who have been selected to attend and this must reflect the outstanding success the club and their coach have achieved.”
They will be staying at the Sports Institute of Finland in Vierumaki for a full week and will be coached by some of the very best specialists in the world, including the coach from the 2013 World Champions.
