Skeleton snatchers ruin family’s display

AN ANNAN woman and her young children have been left mortified after thieves snatched Halloween decorations from their front garden.

With a ban on guising and households mixing this year, Mychelle Richmond and her four kids aged six, nine, ten and 13 decided to go all-out when decorating outside to keep the spooky spirit alive and entertain the locals.

Their display featured several pumpkins, giant spiders and themed ornaments alongside a full-sized skeleton and skeleton dog standing on the front lawn, the theft of which has left the family “gutted.”

Explaining more, Mychelle said: “The skeleton is called Fredrick and his pet dog is called Woofy and they were last seen in Bruce Street around 19.30 pm as I was leaving for work at Annan Court care home on Friday the 23rd. When I returned the following morning at around 8.30 am they were both missing.”

She added that her children had “all worked hard to make Halloween special for all the local kids,” and that Holly, the youngest, had even saved up her own pocket money to buy the dog.

She continued: “It is such a shame that someone felt the need to take Fredrick and Woofy and they are both missed, not just by my kids but to all the people who have taken the time out from their day to visit the garden and have pictures taken with Fredrick and the giant spiders we also have living in the garden at the moment.

“It would be amazing if we could get Fredrick and Woofy back home where they belong but know that probably won’t happen.”
