Dominik, who is number one in Scotland for his age group, started the event from qualification and ended up winning the whole tournament after eight singles wins in a row.
Along the way, the 12-year-old defeated international players from China, Ireland and Poland and also the number three and number seven ranking in the UK.
The St Joseph’s College pupil started his tennis journey at the age of six when he attended a kids tennis programme in Annan led by coach Mike McMillin. After four weeks of training he became hooked.
Dominik soon joined Dumfries Tennis Club where he was coached by Michael Goldie and Lewis Gilmour.
And during lockdown he began individual sessions with Colin Dunbar. He has made great progress, winning many regional competitions around the country.
Now the youngster, whose favourite players are Novak Djokovic and Iga Swiatek, attends the national tennis centre in Stirling twice a week where he was selected to join the Regional Player Development Centre pathway programme for coaching by Joe Gill and Brett McLennan.
Dominik usually competes every second weekend, with his busiest time in the summer.
He travels around whole, UK from Aberdeen down to Dorset and London.
His next competitions are in December where he will be playing regional tours in the 14u age group in Scotland, Bolton and Merseyside.
Dominik would like to express his thanks to his parents, for their great support and sacrifices, Dumfries Tennis Club and coach Michael Goldie for hitting time, access to the courts and ball machine, and Team Tennis Scotland for their support both physically and mentally.
